Bronze Medals for the pupils at Belmont Grosvenor

June 6, 2018

Youngsters at Harrogate prep school Belmont Grosvenor have been awarded BRONZE medals as part of their fund-raising efforts for The Rainbow Fund.

Children, staff and parents at the co-educational prep school, based at Birstwith, Harrogate, have been raising money throughout the year for the charity that supports poorly, disabled and disadvantaged children across Harrogate.

After each fund-raising event, the children are awarded certificates and medals by The Rainbow Fund – Belmont Grosvenor School pupils’ aim is to reach GOLD by the end of the academic year.

So far the charity’s coffers have been boosted by more than £300 thanks to a Crazy Hair Day when BGS youngsters used gel, wax, spray and more to create some wild hairstyles.

The Rainbow Fund, run by a group of parents who have been affected by prematurity, illness and life-limiting conditions in their children, has raised more than £160,000 since it was founded.

Hannah Parker, charities co-ordinator at Belmont Grosvenor School, said all the children were excited about raising money for The Rainbow Fund.

“Our Crazy Hair Day was an event that EVERY child in the school wanted to be a part of – our PTA has just organized a wonderful sponsored walk around Birstwith which has helped raise even more for The Rainbow Fund,” she said.
